Selling a Home in SFWP Service Area
For Escrow Companies:
The water bills from South Feather Water and Power are considered liens against the property and will appear on your escrow discovery. To request information from South Feather Water and Power Agency (SFWPA) please complete our “Title Call Request Form” and submit it either by fax (530) 533-9700 or email to TitleCalls@southfeather.com. When we receive your request we will have the meter read and calculate the most current balance. This prorated charge along with any past due balances will appear on our completed Title Call Form.
Please note that accounts which have been inactive for more than sixty days are required to install a backflow device before the water service can be reactivated. If the property about which you are inquiring meets this need you will see a check mark on the bottom of the page stating “Backflow Required”. The backflow installation costs may range from $450 to $700 depending on the complexity.

For Home Owners:
Upon the closing of escrow, most local escrow companies will transfer the water account to the new owner’s name and verify that water accounts have been paid close to the escrow close date. You may wish to call after the closing date to ensure your account has been closed and the balances have been cleared.
