License Number 2088 was issued by the Federal Power Commission, now FERC, to OWID in 1952 for construction of the South Fork Power Project. Since that date, the original 50-year term license has been amended several times as updates were made, including the name change of the district and hydropower project to South Feather Water & Power Agency/South Feather Power Project.
On March 26, 2007, the Agency filed an application to relicense its 117.3 megawatt project. Though the new license has not yet been issued, the Agency continues to work with the FERC, the resources agencies, and all stakeholders in support of the effort.
